If, if and more if's!

Things keep moving faster with the house I am wanting than they are supposed to! We saw that it was going up for auction much faster than we had anticipated - it was auctioned off on Sept 2nd.  We knew the week before it happened cause I am a FABULOUS eugoogelizer!  However, Steve and I decided not to try to buy it at the auction.  It would have been a cash deal with no inspection or even a personal walk through.  Given that Steve has not even SEEN the house, and well, we don't just have that kind of cash lying around...that didn't sit very well with us and we decided to pass.   Apparently Freddie Mac purchased the home and their realtor was there at the end of last week putting a lock box on the door and changing all the locks - doing a walk through, etc.  My wonderful friend Catherine (who is almost as nosey of a neighbor as I am) cozied up to her and got the 411 on the homes status.  She even got to walk through it with the realtor and was able to tell me what kind of condit...

This Just In...

I received this glorious email from Brian and Stephanie regarding Sarah's surgery and status!  ________________ Sarah is out of surgery and doing well. Everything went very closely according to plan. We were allowed to see Sarah very soon after her surgery. The amount of equipment connected to her is a little alarming, but underneath it all, her long little body looks great. Her incision is shorter than I had expected, and even it looks good. Her skin is nice and pink. She will remain sedated for most of tonight, and though she almost certainly won't need me, I will stay with her tonight while Stephanie gets some much needed rest. Thank you for all of the prayers and expressions of concern. We feel hugely relieved. I even took a couple of pictures of Sarah. Stephanie thinks they may make some people uncomfortable, but if you are interested, you can see pictures of her at  www.entramblitures. squarespace.com . I think she's beautiful. _________________________ Thank you so m...

Calling all prayer warriors

Some of you may  heard me speak of my friends that live in Alaska.  I went to high school in Rockwall with Stephanie.  She and I have remained in contact and watched as each others families have grown.  Well, my friend's daughter (2 months old) as well as she and her husband are in need of prayers!  Please, if you are reading this, stop what you are doing and say a prayer on behalf of Sarah Avery Rozell.    Sarah will be undergoing a major heart surgery beginning around noon today that will be about a 5 hour surgery and is very involved.  I do not want to relay the sensitive information incorrectly, so if you would like to know more about Sarah's condition please visit http://entramblitures.squarespace.com/ the latest post on there discusses this surgery and it's intricate nature in depth.  (Be prepared for tears, this is not an easy read).  Please spend some time in prayer every moment you think about it today.  Please pray that the surgeon's hands will be guided by Go...

Addictive Personalities

Having an addictive personality is really quite a dangerous thing most of the time.   I get excited about a certain project and simply can't get myself to unlatch from that until  it is completely done.   In this case, it is my new favorite feature on the mac that allows me to create ringtones!   I am completely in love with "garage band" which Steve showed me the basics of how to use and I got crazy with it - having a good time making my own ringtones for my glorious iPhone!  I have made three so far tonight and I bet I will have a lot more made  by the time it's all said and done. :)  I am pleased....very very pleased.  This program rocks my socks off!  I can't wait to play on it some more...tomorrow. :)

Productivity

Man, today was a great day for productivity around the house.  I awoke to stormy skies and a messy house, but go to bed with clear skies, watered lawns and fabulously clean KITCHEN and family room!  Ahhhh...this is the life.  Now if only we could keep it this way every day.  Sounds like a goal to me. ;)

What would you do?

Man...I watched a movie tonight that really tested my moral compass.  The movie: Gone Baby Gone If you haven't seen this movie, and it is on your radar to see...you may not want to read my post cause it will have some spoilers for sure.   In this movie a 4 year old is abducted - police and PI's are trying to find her.   The plot gets twisted and turned a bit (but of course - I had it mostly figured out about an hour in sigh) as they are looking for this little girl.  She has a drug addict single mommy who doesn't take very good care of her daughter - and as it turns out, has a chance for a great life with another family.  But that would require two people to "look the other way" and not return her to her family.  What would you do?   It's so easy to say, she belongs with her mother.  She is her family.  But on the other hand, this child has been given a second chance at a better life despite the means by which she was given them.  When you see the way her moth...

Fortune - Misfortune

Image
For those who don't know, I have had my eye on a specific home that I would like for us Breen's to acquire as our own for quite some time now. I had inside intell that the home would be going into foreclosure and that very thing has almost officially happened. It is exactly the home I can see our family growing (and growing old) in - a home with a hot tub and a pool which is something that I didn't used to want, but have found that I want more and more over the last few years. A home that has 5 bedrooms and an office, which sounds like a lot until you consider that we are hoping and praying to have a 3rd child in the near future and have always used one bedroom for a TV room instead of having a TV in our main living area. A home that just happens to be directly next door to my best friend and across the ally from another friend. A home that has kitchen counter tops that I love, newer carpet, a spiral staircase and the dark cherry wood kitchen cabinets that I have alway...
