Lock me away! I am officially a danger to my house, husband or bank account! Perhaps all three of those things would be a more accurate assessment! I am still deep in the throws of the preparation work on my concrete floor and can't stop myself from seeing all of the other things that I need to change in there "while I'm at it!" I am so invigorated by the ideas and the research that I can't stop thinking about it. I stand and just stare at the cabinets - sometimes for more than 30 minutes at a time - wondering what paint color or faux finish would look better than the ugly white they are now....and if I do that, well wouldn't it be great timing to go ahead and add handles and knobs to the doors and cabinets on it too. Of course, since I'm going to be adding handles and knobs to my newly painted cabinets, and those will certainly not be brass - I guess I need to go ahead and change door handles on the other doors in the room as well. Shayna's friends Erica and Morgan came over after school today to make a cookie cake. YUM! They made the cake while I ran a few errands and then I came back with icing and gel to write on the cake *well that's what was SUPPOSED to be done with it anyway haha). By the time I was on my way home, they called to ask if a few boys could come over and join them to eat the cookie cake. I arrived home, and two minutes later four boys show up on our doorstep. All I can say is I LOVE all these kids! The girls were so much fun and the boys were - well - boys....and fabulous, respectful, hilarious boys at that! The girls played a HILARIOUS joke (okay - maybe only to me cause I'm a sicko) on the boys before they got here. They grabbed a tampon and put ketchup all over it and laid it out on the front porch. When talking to other mothers over the years, you always hear stories - stories that make you say "WOW!" I can't believe what that poor mom had to deal with! Thank goodness my sweet baby will NEVER do anything like that...I would just DIE! Well, to my dear sweet friend Diana W. - let me EAT MY WORDS! I always believed when I heard the stories of Maci's poo poo crib escapades that nothing of the sort would EVER happen to me! No way, not in a million years! Ummm...nnyeah! So here is my story - may you read it and laugh - knowing that I giggled and snickered at you even while sympathizing with what you were going through. Last night we were out nice and late - something we pretty much never do. I was up till 2:30ish this morning winding down after a fun evening with friends. Finally, I fall fast asleep hoping against all hope that Addison would sleep in till around 8 so I could get a decent amount of rest. At 6:30am on the nose I begin hearing noise over the m...

My bathroom is going to be a slooooowww process I have a feeling. I am so full of ideas - so full of "what if I do this?" or "what if I try that?" that I am almost immobilized at the moment. I have made some progress though! All of the carpet, linoleum and wood tacking has been pulled up and the room has been swept several times now. I even had to pull off the side of my jacuzzi tub in order to get some of the carpet and taking up. But I did it...and I did it ALL BY MYSELF! It is time to enlist my husbands strong and "hopefully" willing arms now though. I need all of the baseboards to come up and out of the room(s). I am also still toying with the idea of yanking the carpet out of the closets too. That one is a tough decision though. If I don't do it now, it's kind of a forever hold your peace sorta deal - but I also kind of like the idea of walking into my carpeted closet with just a nice wood threshold between the bathroom and that room....

It is sooo wrong - I know it...logic tells me that being in love with a "thing" is wrong!!! Wrong, wrong, dirty and wrong! ;) But I have to say it.. I AM IN LOVE WITH........ MY NEW TREADMILL! I have had cheap gym memberships (YMCA, Rec Center, Natatorium) and I have had expensive gym memberships (Lifetime - visits to Cooper, etc). But NEVER have I used a treadmill that is so amazing as the one I just got Wednesday night. It is not only PRETTY (seriously, I never thought a treadmill could be pretty, but this one IS) but it folds up with ease for space saving, has a reflex deck which means that it has some give when walking and running on it so my knees and back don't just want to make me cry after using it. It even has fans built in to the electronic board that have aromatherapy drops to give you a nice smell good "invigorating" work out while keeping you nice and cool! haha! I have never been one to like working out, I avoid it at all costs in fact - but...

It was just one of those days. A no good , very bad day for our sweet little toddler. I think she was just overly tired and still not up to par from the weekend of fever and the ear infection that we are treating. Meanwhile I have been running her all over town for play dates and fun stuff as if she is as healthy as a horse. Poor baby. It culminated in a total and complete meltdown before 3pm had even hit yesterday. By 5:45 she was in bed asleep and stayed completely sound asleep until almost 7 this morning - and then back down by 9:30 where she is still napping now. I'd say she is one very tired baby! We did go to Pump it Up Jr again yesterday - this time with my friend Retchna and her her son Praveer. It wasn't near as much fun this time - probably because Addison was sooooo tired. But we still had a great time and a super lunch at Chic-Fil-A afterwards. Always a hit. :) Here are a few pics from some of the better moments of the morning. :)

We had a great day yesterday at the Arboretum with Ashley, Grayson and Presley. The weather was gorgeous and the flowers were amazing! We enjoyed a picnic lunch and some fun running in the grass and playing in the sun! We love days like this! I love that Addison is getting old enough to do all of these fun activities and not just sit at home all day staring at each other. :)

In times of stress - or depression - or anxiety - I have a tendency to do some pretty crazy stuff. Not crazy in the sense of throwing things or punching walls - but crazy in the sense of latching on to some big project and just "going crazy!" Well, yesterday was THE DAY for crazy to strike again. I have been going through some pretty emotionally taxing stuff over the last few weeks. Lots of "thought work" going on...and all of this on the heels of me being really sick for the last two months (thank goodness I am starting to feel better physically than I have in a long time as of this week!) I know of no better way to get through this "crazy time" and get the thoughts processed that need to be processed than to grab a hold of a project with every fiber of my being and just immerse myself. Shayna's newest "thing" this year was joining a competitive cheer squad - Envy Cheer - based out of Plano, TX. A lot of her really good friends from school are affiliated with this same gym and on various squads within the gym. This year has been an amazing year for Shayna - she has found a true passion over the last two years when it comes to cheer in general, but especially when she discovered the crazy world of competitive cheer. She lives for it! This weekend was the final competition of the 2008-2009 year. All of the squads at the gym got paid bids to the US Finals in Oklahoma City ... so that's where we were this weekend. My parents met up with us and we went ahead and stayed there both Friday and Saturday night so we could have a little extra hang time with the rents. Today was the absolutely BEST day I have ever had with Addison! We had so much fun and I will forever be grateful to my dear friend Stephanie H for leading us to this place for a most awesome play date with her boys and Addison. After a really rough week - it was a much needed fun playtime that was so much fun I am still smiling just thinking about it. PUMP IT UP, JR RAWKS THE HIZOUSE MOMMIES! Try it out sometime! Here are a few pics from our day! Addison's favorite thing by far was the "SLIDES SLIDES" She has NO FEAR - NONE! It's insane how much of a thrill seeker this little monkey is! I love it! Addison loves Gavin and Grayson - we can't wait to do this with them again soon!

Both of our girls like one thing very much. COLORING! You would think that at 14 years old Shayna would have outgrown this stage of life...but much to my amusement - this is still a relaxing way for Shayna to unwind and express herself. I love this about Shayna - she can just be a kid and not care if it's cool or childish ... she just does what she enjoys! Today while we were at Hobby Lobby (one of my oh so very favorite stores! - for real!) we found a precious purple plastic coloring table for Addison! Addison sat on the sofa for well over an hour (Hello...Guinness? I think we have a world record here!!!) with Shayna beside her...coloring *and some messing around* to their hearts content. In fact, I even had to feed Addison's dinner to her there because she SCREAMED "No! NO! NO!!! Coloring!!" when I tried to move it so she could get in her high chair. I tried to snap a few pics of the two of them coloring together, but I was late on the draw for Addison and Shay...

A child goes through many "phases" with their words it seems. Addison's started with "da-da" "mama" and "HI" - progressed to the ever hilarious "STUCK" and "George"- and now we are in yet another phase. This phase includes a very wide vocabulary with words such as "Shayna" & "chocolate" but the primary words that come out of her mouth these days are "NO NO NO" and "poo poo". Now, I know what all you mothers are thinking. YAY! This child is ready to start potty training! That's what I thought too! Having had Shayna potty train at such an early age, I thought for sure that the transition to this new word all the time meant that some action was either soon to follow or had already happened and she was informing me. Umm...no. That is not the case. Apparently this child just likes the sound of it (and the reaction she gets when she says it!) cause nine times out of ten t...

Our morning started off with me getting a turkey in the oven! YAY! I LOVE making a yummy turkey and look for an excuse - this was it ... and it was a fine turkey if I do say so myself. :) That was in the oven by 9am stuffed with my signature squeezed lemmons, oranges, celery, butter, carrots, onion, garlic, and potatoes. Once that was in the oven I quickly got ready for church - even though I didn't sit through the service today it was great to just be there. I was needed in the childcare area, as were Shayna and Haven. It was good for them to get their volunteer hours for NJHS and helped out since there were 8 babies and two adults. Those extra teenage hands made a difference I am sure. :) Toddler area was not quite as stressful - mostly just a few that needed laps and the rest wanted to play and fight over toys haha. By the time church was over we were headed back home where my little sis and her family met up with us for lunch and hang time. It was sooooo nice to have them...
