Rah Rah Re

Shayna's second basketball game (to cheer at) of the season was tonight. 
I had originally believed I would not be able to attend the game because tonight was also the night of my husbands annual office party.  Unfortunately/fortunately, my husband is still ill and actually far worse than he was last week, so we opted to stay home instead.  :(  I was really looking forward to it too.  How often does a housewife/mom get to dress up and be sociable...ya know?  

Anyway, I digress.  When the time came for Shayna's game to begin tonight I made the decision that since Addison was already in bed asleep...and my ailing husband was also in bed sleeping, they would not miss me and I should go watch my awesome Shayna and friends while they cheer on their schools basketball team!  

Cutie pies...every one one of those girls...but I think they are DONE with "school" cheer at this point (this year).   They were all jacking around and being silly...which was oh so cute, but you could tell that their hearts were not "in it" like they usually are.  
I enjoyed watching them...and enjoyed the face time with the other moms who I have missed a lot since I have been sadly absent from the last few games (thanks a lot to a certain "death march" that shall not be named grrrr...) .  

It was a nice evening out, despite the fact that it was not the "upscale cocktail" event that I was looking forward to.

glad you had fun--sorry you had to miss the party, though!

yeah, that's why i was sad to miss it, too--seems like that is the *one* time of year i get to dress fancy. maybe we all need to do some kind of cocktail-ish event outside of QO to satisfy our needs... ideas?

(of course, i say this, and i'm thinking--just not between Jan 19th and May 5th while i'm in classes.... heh heh.)

Addison, as it turns out, has a great imagination (either that or there is some television show or movie that she has watched recently that I have no idea about). Beginning last Friday we potty trained Addison (hallelujah for fast learners). She has done SO well and caught on in only a day! The funniest part of the whole thing though is how Addison has made up this whole scenario to help her with the pooping thing. Fall visit to Aroboretum

Addison and I had a great visit to the Arboretum with Ashely and her kids Grayson and Presley. I think we did more picture taking than we did playing this time...but it was a fun day and the weather was beautiful! I am looking forward to going again soon!
