Rough Riders
I have not been to very many sporting events in my lifetime.
Never really cared to honestly. However, Steve's office got a suite and party deck at the Frisco Ball Park and gave tickets to the employees and their families. How awesome is that! Needless to say, we got a babysitter for Addison and Steve, myself, Shayna and her friend Erica all went!
I will admit...up until yesterday I did not even know what type of sporting event we were going to. I had to look it up so I wouldn't feel stupid. ;) YAY! It was baseball...a sport I actually kinda like! So we show up and WOW...the suite and party deck were FABULOUS! We had free hot dogs, burgers and chips and even free beer, wine, sodas and water (duh...I drank wine). Most importantly though, we had GREAT conversation with GREAT people! I had already met and connected with a few of Steve's co-workers wives when we went to the Christmas party last year, so there was a great safety net there. As we hung out I got to know a few new ladies too! So awesome! I only wish I had a camera there so I could have taken some pics!
Luckily Cari did and I stole em off her blog post! *snicker*
Shayna and Erica were hilarious! I saw them hanging with some guys in the suite at one point and wondered who brought the teenagers, turns out THEY brought them! They had gone wandering around the park early on in the evening and met a few (really cute) boys that were 14 - the guys asked where they were sitting and so the girls played it all cool and were like "I dunno up on the second floor in a room thingy" and showed them their tickets. The guys were all impressed so the girls ran with it and invited them to join. So funny watching them in action like that. Teenage girls crack me up!
All said and done, it was a lot of fun and I'm so excited about the face time with the ladies. Though about three this morning, I was wishing I had consumed one less glass of wine. Nothing chugging a bottle of water and a few tylenol couldn't cure though. ;)
The funniest part - to me anyway - is that it occurred to me this morning that I did not watch even 10 seconds of the game! I couldn't even tell you who won or what the score was! How's that for my first live sporting event in years! HA

Poor gals hurting the day after--wish I could have enjoyed some of the wine, but I was already tired--would have been asleep in five minutes!!
Ciao, baby!
I'm jealous that you and Cari live so close and get to be friends. She and I are buddies from elementary school days!
