US National Cheer Finals!



Shayna's newest "thing" this year was joining a competitive cheer squad - Envy Cheer - based out of Plano, TX.
A lot of her really good friends from school are affiliated with this same gym and on various squads within the gym.
This year has been an amazing year for Shayna - she has found a true passion over the last two years when it comes to cheer in general, but especially when she discovered the crazy world of competitive cheer. She lives for it!

This weekend was the final competition of the 2008-2009 year. All of the squads at the gym got paid bids to the US Finals in Oklahoma City ... so that's where we were this weekend. My parents met up with us and we went ahead and stayed there both Friday and Saturday night so we could have a little extra hang time with the rents. Our friends Tina and Brad were also there with their son Cole (Shayna's age) and daughter Ella who is on the Pro-Spirit Tiny's squad out of McKinney, Tx. We were also super excited that my cousin Kelly met up with us at the competition and watched Shayna perform then went to lunch with us afterwards. It was great to see her and get to spend even just a few hours with her for a change!

It was really a great weekend filled with a successful competition (SHAYNA'S Squad and all of the other Envy squads came home with FIRST PLACE in their divisions!!!) and lots of fun with friends and family!

Here are a few pics from the weekend - didn't take near as many as I would like to have - and for the record - there would be WAY more of Shayna if she would stop putting her hands in front of her face everytime I want to take a picture of her. Sigh...sadly, I understand - but darn it she is so cute I wish she would let me get more pictures of her. :)

This was our 1st out of town cheer competition and I am so glad that we got to share our time with you and your dear family. I look forward to many more.

Addison, as it turns out, has a great imagination (either that or there is some television show or movie that she has watched recently that I have no idea about). Beginning last Friday we potty trained Addison (hallelujah for fast learners). She has done SO well and caught on in only a day! Fall visit to Aroboretum

Addison and I had a great visit to the Arboretum with Ashely and her kids Grayson and Presley. I think we did more picture taking than we did playing this time...but it was a fun day and the weather was beautiful! I am looking forward to going again soon!
