Happy Resurrection Day

Our morning started off with me getting a turkey in the oven! YAY! I LOVE making a yummy turkey and look for an excuse - this was it ... and it was a fine turkey if I do say so myself. :)
That was in the oven by 9am stuffed with my signature squeezed lemmons, oranges, celery, butter, carrots, onion, garlic, and potatoes.

Once that was in the oven I quickly got ready for church - even though I didn't sit through the service today it was great to just be there. I was needed in the childcare area, as were Shayna and Haven. It was good for them to get their volunteer hours for NJHS and helped out since there were 8 babies and two adults. Those extra teenage hands made a difference I am sure. :)
Toddler area was not quite as stressful - mostly just a few that needed laps and the rest wanted to play and fight over toys haha.

By the time church was over we were headed back home where my little sis and her family met up with us for lunch and hang time. It was sooooo nice to have them over and be able to see the kids, and my sis and bro. We had tons of food, (I also made a 9 pound spiral sliced maple glazed ham) and even better fun and fellowship.

The two older girls; Haven and Shayna - hid some eggs that I had stuffed so that the kids could run around and find them here in the house since the weather didn't really permit that outside today. Addison was surprisingly good at knowing to find the egg, and then put it in her "baset" lol. I'm pretty sure she had more sugar today than she has ever had - she really liked the Jolly Rancher Jelly Beans :)

Addison and Shayna were both left Easter baskets this year with some fun stuff. Shayna got a towel wrap with monkey's on it and a really cute pair or yellow shorts for the summer - as well as some candy and a sponge bob coloring book.
Addison got a small Elmo doll with a Elmo book that makes noises, a brown stuffed bunny rabbit, two coloring books and a couple of cute art projects that she and I can work on this week when we have a rainy day or just need some fun. :)

I hope that everyone else had as great a holiday as we had and that we all took time to reflect on the real meaning of this day without being just totally caught up in all the Easter Bunny madness. Today is Resurrection Day - the day that God's son Jesus Christ rose from his tomb and completed the act that he was sent here to do so that we may each come to the Father and live out eternity with Him!
