It has begun....
Only to be forced by the weather to stop again...
But I am thrilled that today I was at long last able to at least BEGIN the process of staining my bathroom floor! I started in the small toilet area so if I don't like the finish - or run into complications - I can tweak it before moving on to the main floor. I have the first three coats "ragged" on - one of each color so far. Unfortunately, I remember hating all of my floors at this stage - and I am pretty much there with this one right now as well. It takes several applications of the color combinations before I start liking the way it looks. At the moment there is too much red and not enough of the dark brown - but I am not at all worried about that since I know that it will all come together as I do the final applications.
What I am worried about is the design that I picked out as my "let's try something new." I had thought that I would do a cool little design around the toilet area and in the center of the main floor - what I am trying is NOT what was suggested in all of my research. I was thinking I had come up with a good idea to work around having to get Steve involved, but now I am thinking that my "cool" idea is probably going to flop because of the light color choice I made for that area. I think too much of the grey concrete is going to show through, and it may be a bit of a flop that I end up having to go back and correct. Hmmm....I guess we will see soon enough.
In any case, Dayna is a happy camper tonight! I just wish I could continue it tomorrow! Alas, rain is expected and tonight was really pushing it to be honest. But I literally just couldn't stop myself .... so here we go! Bring on some sunshine after the weekend cause I am on a roll now baby! :)
No pics will be posted today, though I have taken some after each application. I just don't want to post until the final "finish" is in place, or at least getting close. It looks nothing like it will ultimately look at the moment, so it would give a very weird impression of what it will be (or at least what I am envisioning that it will be)....and probably not a good one. :)
