Teens out on the town

Shayna and "all the usual suspects" went out on the town last weekend.
They dressed up and invaded Waters Creek here in Allen - a swanky little shopping/food area where they dined out at PF Changs and wandered around just having a good time being 14 year old girls. The celebration was Kaylie's birthday - sounds like they had a fun night to me. :)

Addison, as it turns out, has a great imagination (either that or there is some television show or movie that she has watched recently that I have no idea about). Beginning last Friday we potty trained Addison (hallelujah for fast learners). She has done SO well and caught on in only a day! The funniest part of the whole thing though is how Addison has made up this whole scenario to help her with the pooping thing. Blue? pink? or little white pills?

We are at a crossroad in our lives.   In September I declared that I was in for ONE MORE MONTH and that was it on the baby making stuff.  We would try that month - and let the chips fall where they may.  I will be 35 in June and this is the last month that we had to have a baby "before the dreaded 35".  This has been my cut off age for wanting to have anymore kids since the beginning of this adventure.  I held out very small expectations that anything would come of it and had accepted that Shayna and Addison were it for us.  Not that I am complaining cause they are a wonderful "it" to have.  Both girls just rock my world! However, God has a funny way of working sometimes.  On Friday, my "aunt" was all of about three hours late arriving - so I did what I always do, I grabbed a handy dandy pregnancy test and figured that once I got the negative result my aunt would appear shortly.  Isn't that how it always works?  It's like taking the test just ...

What will be....will be

...and so begins the next journey in our life.  We have four more years (AHHH...ONLY FOUR?) with sweet Shayna - to mold and shape her before sending her off into the great big world.  We have 17 years with Addison - and that will be it for us in the youngster department.   Today we received the bad news that my HCG levels had dropped between Monday and Wednesday.  I went from thinking about baby names one minute, to the reality that there will be no baby the next.   It is almost comical how one begins to want something so bad when they aren't able to have it. How a person can think they don't even want any more kids...until they are faced with the inability to make that choice.   What's ironic, is that I had dealt with it.  I was okay with not having any more kids after Addison.  But I decided that we could give it one more try before I threw in the towel.   So we did, and never in my wildest dreams did I imagine we would actually get pregnant last month.
