Addiction alert!

My friend Stephanie H. recently turned me on to a book series that she was reading...she said I just "had to read them too".  So, I dutifully went to Target to find the first of four books in the Twilight saga.

The first, is of course Twilight.  I had no idea what to expect, she didn't really tell me anything except that I would love them.  While I was looking in Target, I actually passed the book at least half a dozen times without even giving it a second thought.  The cover was so strange that I definitely noticed it - but it never even occurred to me that the book I kept passing up as "odd" could be the book that she wanted me to buy!  I went home thinking that my particular Target didn't have it...then saw it on Amazon.com and went...uhhh....really?  That's THE book?  The MUST HAVE book?  *The cover is all black with two very pale outstretched arms holding a bright red apple*

I went back and bought it the next day.   I was equally skeptical as I began reading Twilight.  Several times during the first few chapters I thought to myself, "Stephanie knows me better than a lot of people...why on EARTH would she think that I would be interested this book?"
Then...all of a sudden...IT HIT ME!  The obsessiveness that can not be controlled!  I fell in love with the book and plowed through it in just a few short days - eagerly running back to Target to get the second book.  I finished the second one even faster than the first!  Within just a few weeks I have now finished the first three books and am now on the last few hundred pages of the fourth.

While this last book isn't my favorite of them, it is still good - and a lot of fun to just sit back and relax with each night.   Let me just go ahead and throw it out there, if you need a good "fun book" (ie: nothing serious, nothing complex, nothing factual) and you aren't opposed to books about vampires (these are written for teens so they are not as deep and dark as you would think when you hear that) then go grab Twilight by Stephanie Meyer and read it real quick before the movie comes out on the 21st.

With that being said,  I am off to read - I simply must find out what happens next in the world of Bella, Edward and Jacob!

Toodles!

PS.  I am really sucking at this blogging every day thing already!
I seriously almost forgot to do a blog today!  Thankfully I remembered just in time!

Hmm, you're the second friend in three days that has recommended this series. Brian has them up at his school, so I'll have him bring them home. I'm about to start "The Shack."

I read all the books in the series as well. I was very skeptical at first because everyone said they are sci-fi, but now I can't wait for the movie to come out this month!

yep, that was my "guilty pleasure" reading this past year. :) i know, you feel like "i know this is ludicrous and all BUT I CAN'T STOP MYSELF, AAUGH!"

i still love the first book best--i'm going to go see the movie with a couple of my best gal-pals. i'm sure the dialog won't even be hear-able through all the girlish screams! ;)
